Why we don't have Universal Healthcare

The Real Reason Republicans and Corporations are against Universal Healthcare

The United States pays more for healthcare than any other country on the planet. Therefore, the US should have the best healthcare on the planet? In a majority of cases treatments outcomes in the US are significantly worse. “Only through universal and inclusive healthcare will we be able to pave an economically sustainable path towards true public health.”

Corporations understand how important healthcare is and the role it serves in retaining talented employees.

Universal Healthcare would eliminate a key reason talented employees work for corporations instead of becoming entrepreneurs. Corporations would face more competition and would need to offer much better incentives to attract and retain talented employees.

The US doesn't have Universal Healthcare in part because large corporations oppose it.

Every modern country and many developing countries have Universal Healthcare

Why is the United States so against it?

Claims of "socialism", "communism", and other scare tactics make it unpopular.

The effect of Universal Healthcare in advancing Social Justice by making healthcare more equitable would be profound.

Institutional and societal racism is quite strong in America and rejects policies and laws that benefit minorities even when everyone would benefit.

American's should feel ashamed and foolish for not having Universal Healthcare, for paying the most for healthcare with poorer outcomes, for being so ignorant about how broken the healthcare system currently is. Universal Healthcare done right would make healthcare more accessible and much less expensive. Doctors, Nurses, and frontline workers would all be paid more money for better outcomes. Taxes wouldn't increase. Wait times to get an appointment wouldn't change (maybe initially).

Americans are fed constant disinformation and outright lies about Universal Healthcare, to encourage opposition and fear.

We need brave bold action and to be brave and bold. We deserve better.
