Higher education should be free. Trade schools should be free.
Student's who complete degree's or trade programs shouldn't be burdened with debt.
The boomer and gen X crowd often don't comprehend how expensive education, text books, and housing is today. Compared to the income a student can earn to pay their way through college.
Many student borrowers have more than paid off their student loans if it were not for the interest and fees keeping them in debt. They deserve forgiveness.
Almost all former student borrowers deserve forgiveness at least in part. The money was already spent, forgiving the loans costs nothing to tax payers.
Setting interest rates to zero or close to zero, forgiving late fees, and providing alternative options for repayment such as community service is the bare minimum we should do.
Student loan forgiveness would immediately put money back into the economy, create jobs, and wealth for the working class.
Student debt puts borrowers into poverty, makes it impossible for them to save money for homes, and places a higher burden on young generations.
The United States is the wealthiest country on the planet but refuses to take care of younger and future generations in any meaningful way. It's shameful that the United States is doing nothing, while so many other countries provide free higher education for their citizens.
Taxes on the working class don't need to increase.
Billions even trillions of dollars are being hoarded and doing nothing for the economy.
Money should move through the economy, create jobs, opportunities. Policies to reduce educational costs, educate students for careers and trades of the future, and tax incentives for investing in educating our future workforce would make higher education much more affordable possibly free.
